What is the BRT-Yellow Line?

BRT Project
Yellow Lines is a specific bus lane for the BRT system of about 26-kilometre beginning from Dawood Chowrangi in Landhi to Regal Chowk, Saddar via Korangi Road, FTC, Sharah e Quaideen, Numaish and People’s Secretariat Chowrangi. Sixteen kilometres of the paths will be dedicated entirely to the BRT and no traffic will be permitted to pass. Four kilometres will be elevated tracks and six kilometres will be merged with the traffic on Sharae Faisal.

The Jam Sadiq Ali Bridge at Korangi will be increased from four lanes to eight lanes while two other flyovers will be built on the tracks. The Yellow Line will have 24 stations and 24 overhead bridges. The BRT is featuring an average speed of 30 kilometres per hour and the project has three elements, including facilities building, operation of buses and servicing and fair collections. The approximated cost of the project is around Rs12 billion and the projected time of finish is two years. The operator will deliver and maintain the buses and will be paid some share of the profits for every kilometre that the buses cover. The government will pay a fixed amount to the fare collector.
